Yeah, I know what some of you were thinking and you should be ashamed.

Isn't this the sweetest teabag ever though? Obviously too cute to brew, I think I'll just sniff it from time to time. It's ... very aromatic.

Spring is definitely in the air here. Wonderful sunny, mild days. And I get to spend them indoors hunched away at my computer. I've been doing some work for a friend who represents IndyCar drivers.

Yes. You heard me. IndyCar. Interestingly enough, did you know that the average IndyCar fan is college educated, earns about 80k/year and is between the age of 30-59? I'm not sure what the average weight is but it's been a very eye-opening experience.

Oh yeah, and drivers look like this now... Holy Moses.

I'm F*cking Matt Damon

How have I missed this?

The sequel to this - "I'm F*cking Ben Afleck" is just as crazy.

Say Cheese

Feb. 20, 2008. Total Lunar Eclipse. It seemed as though the Gods were on my side tonight and everything in the cosmos came together for a perfect moon watching evening.

It started early, around 6 pm! Yay, no more trying to get up at 4 in the morning.
It was mild outside. Only slighty chilly - perfect sweater weather.
A clear and cloudless sky. In Portland. Of all places. Cloudless.
A super duper camera and a tripod for long exposure shots thanks to my bestest boy!

So, with all these favorable factors in my corner, I grabbed my trusty camera and headed outside.

It was then that I realized I had not yet gotten to the "how to take good photos in the dark" part of the manual.

Gaaaaaah. But the clock was ticking and you'd be amazed at how fast a giant ball in the sky moves when you're trying to figure out what to do with your most complicated camera in the world ... in the dark.

This is all I was able to get.

*Sigh*. So if you really wanted to see what the red moon looked like, this fellow had slightly better luck.

All Things Pink

Showered with gifts, was I!

The boy came home an hour late yesterday but laden with presents. Pink roses, giant balloons, tiny balloons, boxes of chocolates, yummy dinner, cards and more original artwork... and a cold.

I woke up this morning with a horrible sore throat. Something that's a minor irritant to Fizzienub reasserts itself as borderline strep for me. Where is the justice?

But let's look at my lovely pink roses, shall we?

Yes. The more I see pink, the more I realize I NEED this color in my home.

Pink. Pink. It took me 36 years to embrace this frou-frou, girlie-girl color but I adore it.

[ed. It's not too late to add comments to the "It's a Surprise" post. I'll be doing the random number drawing on Sunday night]

I'm Going To Have You Killed

First, I need to thank my dear friend Charlotte for bringing the audio books of David Sedaris on our weekend trip.

I've experienced Sedaris's weird, high-pitched voice on the show "This American Life" on NPR but that show is often staggeringly painful to listen to.

So I was unprepared for the sheer comedy and humor of his life essaies. This is my belated Christmas gift to you all - Santaland Diaries is genius.

My trusty iron gave up the ghost. The iron is dead, the iron is dead. Long live the pink iron.

Oooh. It has lots of nifty gadgets including a one button cord return. But the boy thinks I bought it because it was pink.

Does that sound like something I would do?!

And yes, Q. This post is about an iron, unredeemed by any nekkid boobie reflections in the steel.

Beach, Vacuums And Back To Work

Friday: "Well, I'm off to the beach, honey", and then left the boy alone for a few days. The beach? In February? Hey, it works. Here's a few things I learned:

Always travel with Charlotte. She has everything. Everything. Even stuff you didn't know existed but now realize you can't live without.

8 hours - the time it takes me to design a Valentine's day card.
4 hours - the time it takes Kim to create an entire scrapbook album.
4.5 seconds - the time it takes Charlotte to create a card when I'm too stupefied by an amazingly ridiculous request. [There aren't many occasions where I am rendered completely speechless but that was one of them.]

Too much fun. My face still hurts from laughing so much.

Monday: The boy really, really, really did not wanna go back to work today. Too much DDR, lego and video games stuff left to do. Poor guy. I felt so sad dropping him off this morning, clutching his bag as he slowly marched into a strange building.

Broke my heart.

Back at home, it was time to clean the fruits of 6 weeks of "let's live like frat guys". It's amazing how much dust can accumulate in 6 weeks. Huh. Imagine that.

I recently ripped the hose on my vacuum cleaner. Normally this would mean disaster but Dyson's are built like ... transformers! I pressed 3 buttons and the hose popped out. Neato! The replacement should be here in a few days. Meanwhile, vacuuming will have to wait.

Oddly enough, it's nice to be back to the "grind". I missed my morning swims, having a spotless house and living the life of Martha.

2008 - back on track.
