A Very LEGO Christmas

I take a snapshot of our presents every year. It's a great visual reminder of what was going on in our lives (the good and bad - like 2007 when we were both between jobs for Christmas) and what we were interested in.

The one thing that's remained constant over the years is LEGO. So that's what we decided to get each other for Christmas. There are 62 sets under the tree which means that if we only open one per day, we have enough to last 2 months. Ummm. I swear, I had no idea this was happening at the time.

There are plenty of unwrapped sets still since the rule is build one before opening another.

Christmas 2011

Oh and James surprised me with an iPhone 4s. Despite having every type of i-device that Apple makes, I've been very, very reluctant to to switch to a smart phone of any kind. I think it was all the years of using them for work and despising the battery drain.

But it only took 20 minutes to convert me.

It's been a wonderful if hectic few weeks and I didn't get to properly decorate, entertain or do all the Holiday stuff that I plan on doing every year but just never get around to. I need to learn to let go, relax and just savor the moment; things tend to pass by so quickly these days.

We are very fortunate to have each other, our family and friends, our health and work that we both enjoy -  can't take anything for granted.

  1. My precious wife, lego, soccer, kitties, health and happiness. You don't see them all under the tree, but they are at least there in spirit.
